2016 Planning Commission New Member Nominations
The Conway Planning Commission is accepting nominations for two new members. The nominating committee of the Planning Commission will schedule interviews with each nominee. The Planning Commission will then make recommendations to the City Council. The City Council will make final appointments in December, 2015.

The new commissioners will serve five-year terms expiring on December 31, 2020, and will become part of the ten person Planning Commission which hears requests and makes recommendations to the City Council concerning zoning, conditional use permits, annexations, and the moving of buildings. The Commission also reviews changes to the zoning, subdivision, and other planning related ordinances, develops master plans for the orderly growth and development of the City of Conway, and reviews and approves subdivisions and replats of land.

Nominees must reside within the city limits of Conway or the Conway Territorial Jurisdiction and must be willing and able to attend meetings. Applicants may be self-nominated or nominated by another individual. The Commission holds regular meetings at 7:00 PM on the third Monday of each month unless scheduled otherwise. Commissioners may also attend occasional committee meetings.

Anyone who is interested in Planning Commission membership may obtain a nomination form here or contact the City Clerk's Office at 501-450-6100. Forms must be submitted no later than 4:30 PM, Monday, November 2, 2015 in order to be considered.

Proposed Planned Unit Development Public Information Meeting
A 20 lot single family residential gated subdivision with private drives is proposed for 63 acres in the area of 3200 Highway 25. The property lies between Highway 25 and Falcon Crest Subdivision.

The public information meeting is an informal meeting open for anyone interested to gather more information and ask the developer questions.
The meeting will be held at City Hall, 1201 Oak Street on Monday, Septrember 14, 2015 at 5:30 pm.

Markham Street Neighborhood Specific Plan
The regulating plan for the Markham Street Neighborhood area has been adopted by Ordinance O-15-25 and is available for viewing. Work started on the plan in 2013 as part of an Imagine Central Arkansas Jump Start Initiative project administered by Metroplan. The study was conducted by Gateway Planning of Dallas, Tx.

Planning CommissionSeptember Planning Commission Meeting
The September 2015 Planning Commission meeting will be held in the courtroom of the Russell L. "Jack" Roberts District Court Building, 810 Parkway, at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 21, 2015. Submission deadline is Friday, September 4, 2015.

Historic District Commission
Asa P. Robinson Historic District and Old Conway Design Overlay District

Information for the Robinson Historic District and the Old Conway Design Overlay District. Includes ordinances, pattern book, HDC meeting calendar, and application forms for Certificate of Appropriateness reviews. The current HDC staff report is posted as soon as it becomes available. The next regular meeting of the Conway Historic District Commission is scheduled for Monday, September 28, 2015 in the First Floor Conference Room of City Hall at 1201 Oak Street, at 6:00pm. Submission deadline is Friday, September 11, 2015.
